Inner beauty is great, but fabulous, healthy hair never hurt

The subject of how to get healthier hair comes up for me a lot — it has a lot to do with how women perceive their beauty. The key thing isn't what to do first, but what to look at.

Nutritional deficiencies, like omega-6 fatty acids, zinc, and vitamin A, can cause dry, lackluster hair. Biotin deficiency not only makes hair dry, it even gives it a paler color.

Hormones affect hair, too. Thyroid deficiencies can cause hair to become wiry, while sex hormone imbalances can cause thinning and hair loss.

Of course diet and minimizing stress are important, but have your nutrient levels and hormone profiles checked.

Taking it one step further, hair thinning and loss doesn’t usually indicate that your hair follicles are gone. Instead, they are likely dormant, unable to move through the natural cycle of growth and regression. PRP is an excellent solution to this problem that can help people avoid less desirable approaches such as hair transplants or medication.

When injected in the scalp, PRP can produce new stem cells in the root of the hair follicles. This process essentially wakes up the follicles so that they start producing hair again. PRP also stimulates beneficial blood flow that can encourage normal hair growth.
