
This is an easy and delicious way to boost your immunity and harness the amazing powers of ginger and turmeric.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp fresh grated turmeric, packed or ½ tsp ground
1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
1 whole lemon, juiced
1-2 tsp maple syrup or raw honey
1 pinch black pepper
3 cups filtered water
Instructions:
Add turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, leftover lemon rind, maple syrup, pepper, and filtered water to a small saucepan.
Bring to a simmer over medium to medium-high heat for 3 minutes. Turn off heat.
Set a small strainer over serving glasses and divide between two mugs. If the tonic is too potent for you, dilute with additional water.
Store (strained) leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat on the stovetop until warm.
